Análisis de la Situación Política, Económica, Social y de Defensa y Seguridad en el Hemisferio: Amenazas y Desafíos

Abstract

The complex situation of international relations in the Western Hemisphere is affected by cultural and ideological aspects that influence the success or failure of international organizations of regional and continental integration. The author argues that the ideological struggle and demagoguery have led to the failure of many attempts at integration and are still causes of poverty and underdevelopment; the recent debacle of UNASUR as a corollary to the ideological differences of the member countries, the permanent struggle against drug trafficking as well as the Venezuelan social and migratory crisis and its international implications, are analyzed by the author as examples of problems to be resolved in the Hemisphere.
